The S’wans were kindred spirits for as far back as they could remember.  They had each come to Earth many times before and had decided to return once more as a group to participate in the tremendous changes that were to accompany the dawn of the new millennium.  For humankind was to undergo a Shift, a huge Shift In Consciousness that would usher in a new age of peace, a new age of remembrance of the wisdom of Seh’lf, Master of the Dancing Light.

Old Soul in a New Lifetime

This story opens twenty-one years ago with the gentle descent to Earth of a brilliant, sparkling, multi-coloured bundle of light energy, brighter than any star ever seen.  It was Oh-m.  He was a S’wan and was birthed into a family that had planned for and eagerly awaited his arrival with great love, especially his brother Xha-quii, who had descended two years earlier to pave the way for him.  As Oh‑m descended, he felt a strange, increasing density that puzzled him at first.  Then recognition came flooding in, and he smiled as he realized that he had almost forgotten how heavy an earth body could feel.

Oh‑m quickly took to his new life with alacrity and surprised his mother and father with a  knowledge and carriage beyond his years.  For at age five, Oh‑m walked the Earth with a commanding self-assurance uncommon for one so young.  He was very articulate, able to communicate easily with young and old alike, and his dark eyes shone with a timeless, healing wisdom.  And wherever the family went, adults from all walks of life came up to him for a touch of his wisdom.

Although it was customary for the Earthbound Ones to forget their true nature after birth on the Earth plane, Oh‑m had retained all his memories of the wisdom of Seh’lf, Eob Master of the Dancing Light.  This was not surprising, for Oh‑m was of the Indigo Ray of Knowledge, and an Old Soul.  He had lived many times on Earth and was a Wise One.  That he was an Old Soul and of the Indigo stream was immediately obvious to those few Earthbound Ones of the Wisdom Traditions who knew of these matters, and so, with a light touch of the hand, a kindly look with smiling eyes of love or a timely word, they gently guided him along his journey whenever he crossed their paths.

A Clouding Occurs and Brings With it, A Golden Moment

But as Oh‑m grew older, he slowly forgot Seh’lf and his knowledge of the Dancing Light, and became like all the other Earthbound Ones, his true nature shrouded by the density of Earth.  However as happens, although he forgot his connection to the Light, the Light still made itself known to him in subtle ways.  He discovered that he knew things about others and events around him that he should not have known, and he had strong urges to do and say things quite without knowing why, usually surprising those around him with his mysterious knowledge.  But because he had forgotten about Seh’lf, these ‘knowings’ confused and scared him.  For he did not know anyone else who had this kind of ‘knowing’, and he was afraid that he was not normal.

During this time, Oh‑m also experienced a great deal of conflicting emotions.  One moment he was perfectly happy, and the next, he felt suddenly jittery and afraid or angry and uncomfortable.  There was usually no reason he could find for his sudden change of mood, and it confused him.  So after a time, he just accepted that that was the way his life was going to be.  It did become easier to handle as he grew older though, and in time, most of the sudden, inexplicable feelings faded.

What Oh‑m did not realize at the time he was experiencing all this, was that his connection to the Light was so strong that even though he had forgotten all about it, it was allowing him to tune effortlessly into Universal Knowledge, and it was allowing him to pick up the feelings and emotions of people around him.  Oh-m was in fact, an Empath.

Now, this was not too surprising given his lineage.  For his Earth mother Em was herself a Sensitive.  As a child, she too experienced what Oh‑m was experiencing, and like him, she had mistakenly thought that the feelings she picked up from others were her own, and this confused her.  As a Sensitive, Em was so strongly connected to the Light that she could feel the ripple of Dancing Wave-drops of Light when S’wans entered or left the Earth plane.  She felt the ripple of the Dancing Wave-drops of Light when Oh-m’s Great Aunt Od’dri left the Earth plane forty-eight years ago.  At that time, she was only two years old and did not understand what she was feeling until she became an adult and consciously reacquainted herself with the Light.

And of course Em’s mother before her was an Intuitive, for Oh‑m’s Grandmother Maz Mart’hMi knew things before or as they happened.  For example, many years ago, Grandmother knew when Oh‑m’s Auntie MaY'mh was in danger of being pushed to her death at a Ferry dock.  Happily, the danger was aborted and MaY'mh survived.  Someone else chose to take her place. Trembling from the shock of knowing how close she came to leaving Earth without saying goodbye to Grandmother Maz Mart’hMi, young MaY'mh cut short her trip and returned home to sit on the steps and wait the six hours until her mother got home.  But Grandmother Maz Mart’hMi had trusted the Dancing Light and rushed home six hours early just in time to comfort MaY'mh and let her into the house.  Oh yes, the authentic power of the Dancing Light ran strongly in this family.

Now, this connection to the Light did not only traverse the female lineage, for Oh‑m’s Uncle Phran'n was very, very strongly connected to the Light.  Phran'n possessed an innate healing quality so purely of the Light, that it drew animals both domestic and wild to him.  Once, a tiny lizard ran up onto his desk, while he was studying, and sat there quietly for a long time.  Finally Uncle Phran'n, realizing his need, examined him and found a tiny splinter of glass in the lizard’s eye.  He removed it under a magnifying glass with a pair of tweezers.  As soon as he was finished, the lizard darted away, never to be seen again. Then there was Oh-m's Uncle Mik-Mus, who could adventure fly out of his Earth body at will.

But since Oh‑m did not have the benefit of these stories when he was growing up, he was never able to put his experiences with the Dancing Light into context.

Oh‑m soon grew into a strong and intelligent young man, excelling at high school and athletics.  While at high school, he met a boy his age named Phred'd, and it was as if they had known each other forever.  They immediately hit it off and became fast friends.  Little did they know that they had in fact known each other forever, for Phred'd was a S’wan and part of the group that had come to Earth for the New Millennium!

Now, it was Oh‑m’s dream to pursue athletics after high school and that’s exactly what he did.  He followed the Traditional Way and went off to University when he was 20 to pursue his dream.  Oh-m was very happy there for some time until suddenly, catastrophe struck without warning, and his entire world suddenly collapsed!  It happened one fateful day while he was playing a game on the soccer field.  His knee gave way and he fell, suffering a severe injury that took him out of the running, literally, and sent his dream of a career in athletics spinning out of reach.  Oh‑m was devastated!  He fell into a deep depression.  His body had betrayed him, he thought, and continued to betray him.  He could not sleep and was exhausted most of the time.  Even so, Oh‑m plunged doggedly on, but he soon realized that without his athletics, it was hard for him to follow the Traditional Way.

Interestingly, as happens when one is so strongly connected to the Dancing Light, around the same time that his athletics dream was wrenched away from him, a new, even more exciting path opened up - Rhap Sod’k Toning!  Hooked, Oh-m eagerly left the Traditional Way to pursue this new and deeply engaging passion.  He fell into it with great joy and it turned out to be a wonderfully creative and magical time for him – he had found the Way of Bliss!  And he discovered that when he was pursuing this Way of Bliss, he was in the Zone and all was magic! His body pulsated with a beautiful energy, an undefinable, mysteriously wonderful force, and he was content and happy.

However, this magical period came to an abrupt end all too soon as his fellow Rhap Sod’k Tonicians left to pursue other adventures.  So, crushed once again and at a loss for what to do, Oh‑m, feeling the heavy tug of obligation to the conventional, decided to return to the Traditional Way, even though his heart was not in it.  He did it mainly to please his parents, and because he thought it was the responsible and right thing to do.  He was also confused and afraid that he had let himself and his parents down by leaving the Traditional Way.  Happily, although he returned to the Traditional Way, Oh-m was still able to pursue the Way of Bliss some of the time, and at those times, he felt light and full of joy.

Even so, following the Traditional Way made Oh-m’s heart as heavy as lead, and he soon realized that the Traditional Way was not his Path.  So with great trepidation, he told his parents for the second time, that he was leaving the Traditional Way.  Twenty-one year-old Oh-m dropped his bombshell and waited for the fallout.
